Mary Crofton

Background

Dr Mary Crofton qualified at St Mary's Hospital Medical School in 1973. She commenced general medical training, mainly at St Mary's, before switching to radiology in 1978. She did her radiology training at Hammersmith Hospital, gaining the FRCR in 1981. She developed an interest in interventional radiology, gastrointestinal radiology and also gynaecological ultrasound, working with the recently formed IVF unit.

In 1983 Dr Crofton was appointed as a consultant at St Mary's Hospital with an interest in interventional radiology, gastrointestinal and gynaecological imaging, working at the Samaritan Hospital for Women.

Over the last few years her role has changed and she now works mainly with ultrasound - including general, gynaecological and head and neck, including US guided FNA and biopsy - and other aspects of benign gynaecological imaging.
